Time to Paint

An exhibition of 44 watercolours by Peeramon artist Perry Smith are available for viewing and sale at the Foyer Gallery, 45 Mabel Street Atherton.

The exhibition is open for the month of may from 8.30am to 4.45pm Monday Friday (except for Labour Day on Monday 7th).

After having a life-long desire to create watercolour landscapes, Perry decided to retire at 59 and move from Townsville to the Tablelands in 2008. This gave him the time to concentrate on his painting.

He paints to share an experience and appreciate of the New Zealand and Tableland landscapes.

His appreciation of the New Zealand landscape colour and atmosphere is reflected in every painting, featuring the grandeur of the South Islands high country lakes and mountains or the tropical lushness of Northland native bush and beaches.

Perry is a realist and prefers to depict scenes he has seen personally and all show Perry’s acute observation of light and colour.

An exhibition worth seeing, so head over to the Foyer Gallery this month and enjoy this lovely selection of watercolours from Perry Smith.

Congratulations

A very big well done to the small community of Einasleigh, and all other volunteers, for their hard work and dedication in running the ever growing “Easter at Einasleigh”. This was an outstanding effort for such a small community.
It is not easy when events grow and infrastructure and community have to cope with the increasing demand. We have seen several new toilet blocks built this year, along with the brand new inside running rail. The track was in excellent condition and all other grounds were in top order.

So a very big thank you to everyone who helped in any way in running such a great weekend and - WELL DONE!!!!!!!!!
